About the Artist
Hi, I'm Jan Grackle! I am a Nebraska-based artist who specializes in watercolor and ink illustration. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and after beginning my career as a self-taught artist, I attended Creighton University where I earned my BFA degree in Studio Arts. I was able to supplement my years of developing my art on my own with the teaching of former Disney artists and renowned sculptors. Now, I am using my skills to create artwork for a wide array of private commissions as well as print-on-demand services.

Artist Statement
I am a versatile artist with experience in working with 2D, 3D, and digital media in a multitude of styles, my preference being watercolor and ink illustration. My wide variety of skills has allowed me to serve my community in multiple ways. For example, designing t-shirt graphics for theatre productions, ballets, pageant contestants, and high-profile fashion events. My work aims to celebrate and preserve my own rich Native American, Hispanic, and European cultures through illustrations, as well as bring happiness to those at the individual level with portraits of pets and loved ones that perfectly capture the personality of the subject.
Art is meant to evoke emotion in the viewer, and mine does exactly that. My stylish and dynamic work encourages others to celebrate their uniqueness, to be proud of their heritage, and brings people and organizations together through unifying graphics.
